Monday 18th October – Sunday 24th October 2021 is Get Online Week. Get Online Week is a digital inclusion campaign organised by Good Things Foundation.  According to research, around 13 million people in the UK lack the digital skills they need for work and a staggering 3.7 billion people worldwide are digitally excluded. A lack of digital skills can have a huge negative impact on a person’s life, leading to poorer health outcomes, increased loneliness, and social isolation. If this past 18 months has taught us anything, it’s the importance of being connected to one another.

We want to help those struggling to get online and to do this, we want to highlight our fantastic, newly improved online services. You may have already noticed; our website has had a bit of a face lift! The Life Leisure website now has a new look along with a simple to use navigation bar, meaning it’s now much easier to find what you’re after. This new, easy to use navigation bar highlights the most sought-after information on our website and categorises them simply. For example, if you’re searching for information on swimming, simply press the ‘Swimming’ option on the navigation bar and you’ll be presented with the following options to view information on: Casual swimming, swimming lessons, masters swimming or holiday courses. It’s as easy as that! Our homepage also houses all our most up to date information on the bread and butter of our facilities such as membership packages, Covid-19 updates and centre news and events.

If you’re after information about a specific Life Leisure centre, each club has its own webpage that can be found under ‘Our Centres’. Our centre pages have also been updated and clearly display all the information you could possibly need about each of our clubs and the facilities available. We’re confident these visual icons will make it easier and faster to locate the exact information you’re after. Want to know about activities on offer for children at your local centre? No need to scroll endlessly to find out – just tap ‘Kids classes and activities’ and there you go!

The addition of our ‘What’s On’ feature (now live!) allows you to view and book events happening in your local area ran by our Active Communities team such as Smile and I Wish I’d Tried. These activities are targeted specifically for older adults, so it was extremely important for us that we make this area of our website as accessible as possible. We want to shout from the rooftops about our amazing products and services and our new look website and what’s on feature allows us to do just that!

Last, but by no means least, don’t forget to download the Life Leisure app for quicker and easier booking! The Life Leisure app is already helping over 6,500 of you to book, view and manage your sessions with ease and it’s clear to see why. Gone are the days of entering your email address and password every time you want to book. The app keeps you logged in so booking really is as simple as 1, 2, 3! The app also has a library of information just waiting to be discovered. Find out about products and services on offer at your local centre, view our latest Covid-19 updates and more! Download and explore our app today.

We want all of our members and customers to feel confident accessing our online services. If you or someone you know is struggling to ‘Get Online’ with Life Leisure, please visit your local centre and a member of the team would be happy to provide some guidance in how to use these tools. With a little help, we can all get online and get connected.
